Jordan Gesimondo, DVM, MPH – Medical Director
Dr. Jordan Gesimondo was born in Madrid, Spain, and grew up in the east valley. She was a team swimmer for Northern Arizona University where she received a Bachelors’s degree in Biology in 2006. She went to veterinary school at Colorado State University and graduated with a DVM in 2011. From there she spent 3 years in Texas before coming home to the valley in 2014.
She continued her education and graduated with a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Minnesota in 2016. Her primary interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, infectious disease, veterinary public health, and the human-animal bond. She has a wonderful husband of 16 years, 3 kids, and 2 dogs. Her kids have inspired her to make the profession of veterinary medicine more family-friendly. In 2016, she co-founded DVMoms, a group of 14,000 veterinarian mothers with the mission to do just that.
Cara Donnici, DVM
Dr. Cara was born and raised in the northland of Kansas City, Missouri. Volunteering at animal shelters and assisting pet owners was a passionate part of her young childhood. Dr. Cara then began working in the vet field as a kennel attendant at the age of 16. She continued her studies while expanding skills to be a Veterinary Technician. This led to many diverse opportunities within emergency, wildlife, non-profit, and lots of community cats! Dr. Cara moved to Arizona in 2014, accomplishing a lifelong dream to live in the Phoenix valley. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ in 2021. Dr. Cara brings not only a broad knowledge of veterinary medicine but also wisdom absorbed from amazing mentors, both doctor and support staff. This provides an understanding for the compassion and practicality required in each visit. As a team, Dr. Cara wants to ensure the health and comfort for all your beloved furry family members. She is ecstatically awaiting to meet you! In her free time, you’ll usually find Dr. Cara with her husband and son, Jacob. They are a full house accompanied by their 2 dogs and 7 cats with equally comedic names.
Dr. Elise was born and raised in Pennsylvania, (the Philadelphia side, not the Pittsburgh side), where she received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences with an Equine Science minor from Penn State (Love Ya Lions!). She went on to earn her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010.
After a particularly cold snowmageddon winter, she moved out to Arizona for an internship, never imagining she would meet her husband and end up staying in the sunny southwest. He has since taught her everything she never needed to know about rodeo, bull riding, and Star Wars.
An equine practitioner at heart, she spent the last 10 years in mixed animal practice, working on everything from dogs and cats to horses to the occasional alpaca. She has developed a passion for sports medicine, treating working dogs and rodeo animals alike. While she primarily practices Western medicine, Dr. Elise is very interested in Complementary Medicine, becoming AVCA certified in Animal Chiropractic in 2013, and currently working towards Acupuncture certification. When she isn’t working, you can find her home on the ranch in Wickenburg with her husband Jake, their 2 sons Guy and Sean, and their menagerie of dogs, cats, horses and bucking bulls. She loves baking and all things Disney!
Gina Lee Finney, DVM, MBA, CHPV
Dr. Gina was born and raised here in North Phoenix. She started working in the veterinary field in 1996. Dr. Gina pursued her veterinary education abroad attending both Ross University Veterinary School in Saint Kitts and Nevis and St. Matthew’s Veterinary School in the Cayman Islands. Dr. Gina spent her clinical rotations at Oklahoma State University Teaching Hospital in Stillwater, OK and graduated with her DVM in 2009 from St Matthew’s University. Three years later, Dr. Gina went on to earn her MBA in medical management. Dr. Gina has a passion for helping pet parents with geriatric pets or pets who have been diagnosed with incurable diseases as she is one of Arizona’s first veterinarians certified in veterinary hospice and palliative care (CHPV). When not practicing, Dr. Gina enjoys spending time with her husband, Gerry, her three young children, her three dogs, Franklin, Ceasar and Bandit, her kitten, Jersey and her tortoise, E.T.
Leigh Pogorzelski – Practice Administrator
Leigh began working in the veterinary field in 1995, working part-time as a receptionist while attending college for Medical Laboratory Technology. After earning her degree, she realized that her heart belonged more in animal medicine and received her Veterinary Technician certification in 2001. She has been working in the field ever since and comes to Valet Vet with 8 years of veterinary management experience.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Leigh headed south to sunny Arizona in 2012 with her husband and a car full of pets. They are SO happy to not be shoveling snow anymore! In her spare time, you’ll find Leigh hiking, working out, or reading. She and her husband are self-proclaimed “wine snobs” and enjoy discovering new vineyards that are popping up throughout the state. They also routinely go camping with their 2 energetic pittie pups, who love hiking, swimming and riding in the ATV.
Raeann Lesko– Technician, Office Manager
Raeann was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ! She knew from a young age, that animals were her passion! In her sophomore year of high school, her family found a little Pit Bull puppy that ended up coming down with parvovirus. She found her calling when the veterinary staff was able to successfully treat and save her little Lily-Pit. Raeann graduated from Kaplan College with her Associates in Occupational Studies in November of 2011 and has been loving working in the field since then! In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family; 3 dogs (Chase, Eleanor, and Jazzy), 3 cats (Ace, Jackson, and Cedric), 3 ball pythons (Oliver, Holly, and Cupid), her boyfriend, Skyler, and her toddler, Tatum! She also enjoys all things Harry Potter and Minnesota Vikings! SKOL!
Gina Ramirez, CVT, Office Coordinator
Gina grew up in the Monterey Bay area of California. She has always loved the animal world. Gina graduated from California State University of Fresno with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Animal Science. She has been actively working in the veterinary field since 1998 and has volunteered at the Monterey Bay Aquarium preparing meals for all the different animal exhibits. Gina moved to Arizona in 2008 and became a CVT in 2013. She has had 18 years of experience, not only as a pet care provider but as a client relationship specialist. She believes that the pet parents are just as important as the fur kids. When not working she enjoys gardening, running, cooking and spending time with her siblings and extended fur family.
Alley Cook, Lead Technician, Surgery Coordinator
Alley Cook has been in the veterinary field for 9 years. She enjoys working with all types of animals but enjoys working with large dogs and cats the most. Alley graduated from Anthem College in 2011 with an Associates in veterinary technology. Alley is from Farmington, New Mexico, and has lived in the valley for the past 10 years. Alley has 2 furry pets of her own, Penny a 1yr Old English sheepdog and Squeaky, a 6yrs old grey kitty. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her 3 human babies and her husband.
Sydney Forstner – Technician
Sydney was born in Port Huron, Michigan, and moved to Arizona in 2013. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute with my Veterinary Assistant Certification in November 2016. Sydney has been in the veterinary field for 3 1/2 years and absolutely loves it! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 chihuahuas Nugget and Luna, and my 5-month-old kitten Pumpkin. She also enjoys spending time with her parents, going up north camping, or anything outdoors.
Lauren Schermerhorn– Technician
Lauren began working in the Veterinary field in 2012, she started out as a kennel attendant and knew then, that this was the career path for her!
She loves working with all kinds of animals and has a few of her own.
She has lived in Arizona all her life and in her spare time, likes to travel all over the state to site see, hike & camp.
Monica Escalante – Technician
Monica was born in Mexico but moved to Arizona when she was just 8 years old, so she considers herself an Arizona native. She’s been in the veterinary field since February 2020. She attended Pima Medical Institute and graduated from their Veterinary Assistant Program in September 2020. Monica has loved animals since she was a little girl and it’s only a dream come true to work in a field where she gets to not only work with them but help them. In her free time, she really loves spending time with her family and relaxing with her boyfriend and their fur babies, while patiently waiting for their human baby to arrive in just a couple of months.
Guinevere Anderson – Technician
Guinevere has been working in the veterinary field since 2019 when she earned her Veterinary Assistant certification through West-Mec. She joined the Valet Vet team in December 2021 after working in small animal general medicine, followed by mobile veterinary cardiology. She knows veterinary medicine is where her heart belongs and enjoys making connections with clients and their fur babies.
Guinevere is a creative soul and spends much of her spare time with a paintbrush in her hand. She’s also a cat mom and loves playing and snuggling with her 2 kitties, as well as traveling with her boyfriend.
Feliciana Aguilar- Technician
Feliciana was born and raised here in Arizona. She has been in the veterinary field since 2016 after finishing her Veterinary Assistant certification with Pima Medical Institute. She joined the Valet Vet family in March of 2022. Her love for animals and passion for helping them has made this job even more fulfilling. She is a cat mom to 2 kitties, Gracy and Larry. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and binge-watching new shows with her husband.
